The Custodian has the primary responsibility for cleaning the center in such a way to promote health and safety while reducing the spread of infection.
MAJOR
Responsibilities:
Daily cleaning of classrooms, office, bathrooms, and common areas, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting and emptying trash.
Follows and completes the center's daily, weekly and monthly cleaning schedule.
These duties include:
Collects and bags all garbage from the center, placing the tied bags in a closed dumpster.
Disinfects and cleans garbage and trashcans, and changes bags daily.
Washes and sanitizes bathrooms fixtures daily with approved solution.
Using approved solution, wet mops all washable floors daily including kitchen, bathroom, office areas, and classrooms.
Sweeps and clears entrance spaces, daily.
Vacuums all carpeting daily.
Disinfect frequently touched surfaces such as countertops, light switches, doorknobs, toilets, faucets, sinks, phones, keyboards, etc.
Washes bathroom, kitchen, classroom and other windows (inside and outside) and walls using approved solution as scheduled or needed.
Shampoo or steam-clean carpets/rugs as scheduled or neededDusts, washes and sanitizes other surfaces as specified in schedule.
Refills paper towel, tissue, toilet paper and hand soap in all dispensers.
Inventory control of all cleaning supplies, including ordering and receiving supplies.
Ensure that safety and health procedures are followed as directed by Center Manager and/or established policy.
Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and machinery to prevent damage to floors and/or injury to self.
Perform routine inspection and regular upkeep of interior areas to ensure areas are free of safety hazards and other foreign materials.
Miscellaneous minor maintenance; (i.
e.
changing filters, unclog toilets, replacing daylight bulbs etc.
) Keep building and property in clean and orderly condition.
Assist with trainings and event set ups.
Attend meetings and trainings as required or recommended by supervisor.
Perform other duties as assigned.

)ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP:
This position reports to the Director of Facilities & Transportation or assigned Center ManagerRequirementsEDUCATION AND
Experience:
High School diploma or GED required with related work experience preferredSKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
Ability to communicate (verbal and written) effectively and appropriately with others.
Ability to read and follow detailed written and verbal instructions.
Ability to present a positive image of the organization to members of the community.
Must have effective organizational, problem solving, and time management skills.
Ability to use mechanical equipment, such as carpet cleaner, vacuum, etc.
Knowledge of proper cleaning methods required.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
CERTIFICATIONS:
Complete TB screening & physical before having direct contact with children.
Renew every 2 years.
Complete a minimum of 15 hours of in-service training annually, July 1- June 30ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
Works inside in a childcare settingESSENTIAL PHYSICAL SKILLS:
Acceptable eyesight (with or without correction) Acceptable hearing (with or without correction) Requires heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling objects up to 50 pounds.
Physical work is a primary part (more than 70%) of job.
Ability to bend, stoop, lift, walk and stand intermittently throughout the workday This job involves standing for long periods as well as stooping, squatting, lifting, carrying, pushing and climbing.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
